Safety at train level crossings
June 3 has been established as World Awareness Day for public safety at train level crossings. Hellenic Train, always assisting the European Union’s effort for safety, aims to inform everyone for the vital need to apply all safety rules before crossing the Railway Tracks.
The existence of train level crossings ensures the safe crossing of the railway track, as long as we reduce speed when we approach the crossing and stop when we see a red light or a lowered safety bar.
We should never violate the safety bars! Even when the signs do allow us to cross the track, we should first check by ourselves, making sure that the crossing is indeed safe. Obeying those simple rules may save our lives. We must remember that the train always has priority!
