Ticket purchase on board for stations in which the ticket office operation has been suspended.

At Hellenic Train, we are continuously working to enhance the quality of our services and meet the evolving needs of our valued passengers. As part of this commitment, we are restructuring our physical sales points.

At boarding stations, where the ticket office is no longer in operation, you can purchase your ticket onboard the train from Hellenic Train personnel. Available ticket options include full-price tickets, as well as discount tickets for children up to 12 years old, students, seniors over 65, individuals with disabilities, and members of large families as defined by social welfare criteria. Accepted payment methods include cash, debit, or credit card.

For any information regarding your journey from/to stations without a physical ticket office, you may call the Station Help Line at +30 210 624 1943 (local charge), available daily from 07:00 to 21:00.
 

Payment Methods

You can pay for your ticket in cash or by credit/debit card in physical and digital form (via mobile phone or smartwatch).

Accepted cards:
• Physical cards: VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express, Diners, Revolut
• Digital wallets (Google Pay / Apple Pay): VISA, MasterCard.
 

Ticket purchase at stations with operating ticket offices

If you board from a station with an operating ticket office, it is mandatory to purchase your ticket before boarding the train.

• Onboard our trains from Hellenic Train personnel. Full-price tickets are available, in addition to discount tickets for children under 12, students, individuals over 65, people with disabilities, and members of large families as defined by social welfare criteria. Accepted payment methods include cash, debit, or credit card.
 

A fine of 10 euros is applicable and collected immediately, in addition to the ticket fare, if a passenger boards the train without a valid ticket. For more information, visit the Fines page.
