Timetable changes from 15/9/2025
Νew timetables
Hellenic Train informs the passengers that, due to extensive necessary works on the railway infrastructure being carried out by the Infrastructure Manager, OSE - Hellenic Railways, and the resulting traffic restrictions, from Monday, 15 September 2025, modifications and suspensions of services will be introduced on the Athens–Thessaloniki–Athens Intercity route, as well as on certain local and suburban services in Greece’s rail network.
With effect from Monday, 15 September 2025, the services of Intercity trains 52, 53, 54, and 55 on the Athens–Thessaloniki–Athens route will be suspended. Two pairs of trains per direction will be available for serving the passengers travelling on this route.
From Athens to Thessaloniki, Intercity train 50 will depart at 06:58 and Intercity train 56 at 17:58.
From Thessaloniki to Athens, Intercity train 51 will depart at 05:55 and Intercity train 57 at 16:49.

- PALAIOFARSALOS – KALAMBAKA – PALAIOFARSALOS
Ticket holders
Passenger information for tickets purchased on canceled services:
Tickets purchased at ticket offices and paid for in cash can only be refunded at an active ticket office.
Ticket holders who made a purchase with debit/credit card, regardless of sales channel (ticket offices, web ticketing & app), may:
- • Either send a written request to the company via the Contact & Suggestion Form (Link to: https://www.hellenictrain.gr/en/forma-epikoinonias-upodeixeon), providing the ticket number if electronic, or attaching the ticket PDF or a clear photo if issued at a ticket office, requesting a refund, which will be credited back via the same purchase channel (the refund will be returned to the card used for the original purchase).
- • Or visit any Station Ticket Office to request a refund.
Finally, passengers have the option to change their ticket free of charge (i.e. date and time of travel, for the same route) and travel on another service.
Registered users
Hellenic Train app users (registered users), can change their tickets through the app, free of charge (i.e. change the date and time of travel for the same route) through the ticket management option in the “My Trips” menu.
