Thessaloniki – Sindos New Services from November 19th
To the University in less than an academic quarter...
Hellenic Train brings Thessaloniki and Sindos even closer, launching from November 19th, 2025, six (6) new services in each direction along the line that connects the city with its academic and industrial hub.
A journey of just 11 minutes makes all the difference for daily commuters —
for students at the International Hellenic University, employees traveling to nearby industrial facilities, and everyone seeking a fast, reliable, and affordable way to move between the two areas.
New Services
As of November 19th, a total of 17 routes per direction will connect Thessaloniki and Sindos every day:
• The 6 new services will operate Monday to Friday. They do not operate on national holidays and official holidays of the academic year.
• The 11 existing services continue throughout the week.
From Sindos Station, passengers can board OASTH buses heading to the International Hellenic University and the city’s industrial zones, further strengthening the link between rail and other transport modes.

Hellenic Train offers a range of discounts and travel card options for different passenger categories, supporting accessibility and sustainable daily mobility.

Please note: Sindos Station does not have a ticket office.
Travel Cards – Unlimited Journeys
Passengers can purchase travel cards for unlimited journeys from the ticket offices at Thessaloniki Railway Station, available for:
• 6 days
• 15 days
• 1 month
• 3 months
All discounted passenger categories (youth 12–24, seniors 65+, students, armed forces personnel, children 4–12, school pupils, multi-child families, and persons with disabilities) are entitled to additional 15% discount on the purchase of unlimited travel cards.
Travel cards are also available through digital sales channels (web ticketing and mobile app) and telephone sales (14511 or +302106241945 for international mobile providers) for the same durations.
Please note: the 15% discount for special passenger categories does not apply to purchases made through digital or telephone channels.
