EGPM Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will support and monitor the successful execution of ETCS and GSM-R integration projects on Hellenic Train fleets, in collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders. The role requires strong technical and analytical skills to ensure the safe and efficient integration of ETCS and GSM-R equipment in compliance with EU regulations and corporate policies.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of ETCS and GSM-R onboard systems across rolling stock fleets, ensuring alignment with technical, operational, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and document maintenance procedures for onboard ETCS/GSM-R equipment, in coordination with suppliers, technical teams, and IMS functions
• Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, interface documentation, and test protocols for onboard systems
• Participate in supplier coordination and technical reviews, supporting the evaluation of risk analyses, design variations, and verification documents in accordance with EU Regulations (402/2013, 1136/2015, 545/2018 and TSIs)
• Contribute to the creation and validation of technical dossiers, including electrical diagrams, interface layouts, and onboard equipment schematics
• On-site support onboard testing and commissioning activities, including conformity assessments and integration validation
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical reports on integration progress, equipment performance, and compliance verification
• Ensure traceability of system changes, documentation updates, and regulatory approvals through structured document control and quality assurance processes
• Act as a technical liaison between rolling stock engineering, suppliers, infrastructure manager and internal teams to resolve integration challenges and align procedures

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving
• Proficiency in English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related engineering experience
• Familiarity with railway systems and railway operation procedures
• Experience preferably in the railway industry, particularly with rolling stock maintenance, renovation, or project management
• Familiarity with EU railway regulations and specifications related to ETCS/GSM-R and rolling stock.
• Strong data analysis and planning software proficiency (Excel, MS Project, etc.)
