Head of Industrial Planning

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the collection, processing, and interpretation of operational data in coordination with internal operational and planning structures.

· Monitor operational performance data, identify recurring patterns, inefficiencies, and improvement areas.

· Integrate findings into operational processes to enhance resource utilization, reduce operational costs, support safety objectives, and improve service reliability.

· Track and analyze utilization patterns of the rolling stock fleet and associated staff shifts.

· Propose corrective actions and optimization measures to maximise efficiency, fleet availability, and asset performance.

· Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-driven decision making.

Required Qualifications:

· Degree in Engineering, Transportation, Operations Research, Economics, or a related analytical field.

· Experience in planning, scheduling, operations, or resource optimization within transport, logistics, or industrial environments.

· Strong data analysis and modelling skills, with proficiency in analytical tools (Excel, BI tools, scheduling software).

· Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage cross-functional collaboration, and deliver complex planning outputs.

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency in English

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications

· Experience in railway operations, rolling stock planning, crew rostering, timetable development, or fleet management.

· Knowledge of European railway operational standards and regulatory frameworks.

· Familiarity with advanced data analytics (Python, R, Power BI, SQL) and optimisation methods.

· Experience in developing and implementing planning methodologies, operational KPIs, and performance dashboards.

· Understanding of safety-related constraints and operational risk management within transport systems.
